About
Driving Texas'
medical innovation.
A Houston-based not-for-profit organization with programs designed to support life science innovators at every stage — from needs finding, to business model development, to clinical strategy, and beyond. In doing so, we provide our pool of advanced degree candidates with hands-on experience and opportunities to build professional networks in life science industries.
Our Story
Founded in 2012.
Enventure was founded by Will Clifton, Amy Hurwitz, Joanna Nathan, Triparna Ghosh, and Matthew Pautz — inspired by Professor Jack Gill's "Life Science Entrepreneurship" course at Rice University, free and open to anyone. They saw that apart from that course, Houston's life science students had almost no infrastructure to explore careers beyond academia.
Starting as a small, student-led nonprofit, Enventure began hosting weekly meetups and Biodesign workshops — then grew into a hub of year-round programs, real consulting engagements, and statewide chapters. Today, it's a primary driver of Houston's venture-backed life science startup ecosystem.
"Enventure, an offspring of 633, has become a primary driver for launching life science entrepreneurs and propelling Houston into a nationally leading role in venture-backed startups."
"Enventure feels like a family. The common goal of making healthcare innovation accessible brings together a special group of individuals that fosters lasting friendships and professional networks."

Mission
Bridging the gap between
talent and innovation.
Enventure bridges a critical gap: it connects emerging young professionals and advanced-degree candidates — PhDs, MDs, and Masters students — with the consulting, market research, and strategic guidance needs of early-stage founders at the Texas Medical Center.
Our members don't just observe innovation — they drive it. Every project is a real engagement with real outcomes, building careers while fueling the TMC startup ecosystem.
