Enventure’s decade of growth and progress and the explosion of Texas’ medical innovation landscape

Medical innovation startups require an extremely high level of clinical expertise, customer insight, and scientific knowledge. Successful founders invest heavily in these areas up front, allowing them to make decisions with reliable data. Otherwise, founders risk solving a problem that doesn’t exist, or isn’t well understood.

Our hope at Enventure is that all of 2021's medical innovation activity will translate into better outcomes for patients and the continued growth of our Texas innovation ecosystem.

We’ve made an impact on healthcare innovation by opening up pathways for student talent to enter the industry while being supported by Enventure’s community. This is how we’ve fostered a dependable support network for students, young professionals, and life science startups.

Our vision at Enventure is to connect advanced degree students and young professionals with careers in the life science industry, not only in Houston but across all of Texas. The success of our San Antonio chapter has served as proof of concept that Enventure’s mission has an inherent value relevant to healthcare innovation ecosystems beyond that of Houston.

Nearly a decade ago, five grad students interested in Life Science Entrepreneurship saw an opportunity to unite the healthcare innovation community in Houston - it all started in Professor Jack Gill’s class at Rice University, read on to learn how Enventure came to be.

VICE 2021 is a virtual venture investment competition by Enventure where students play the role of investors to perform diligence on our partnering startups and be judged by our invited VCs.
