Our Alumni Spotlight series continues with Kevin Lorch, who served as Consulting Director during his time with Enventure and is now building a career at the intersection of medicine and genomics.
His time with Enventure
Kevin was part of Enventure from 2020 to 2024, rising to the role of Consulting Director. It's a leadership track that put him at the center of managing teams, client relationships, and the day-to-day work of running consulting projects.
What he's doing now
Kevin is currently a Medical Science Liaison at New Amsterdam Genomics, a DNA testing startup, where he builds relationships with clinicians and creates medical education materials to help doctors, healthcare providers, and patients get familiar with genomics. He recently accepted a new role with Menarini Stemline, where he'll be an MSL in the breast cancer space, working with oncologists and pathologists on ESR1-mutated cancers.
The skills that carried over
When we asked Kevin what he took away from his time with Enventure, he pointed to the soft skills that now sit at the center of his work as an MSL:
"Enventure helped me sharpen soft skills in terms of communicating with stakeholders from different backgrounds, tuning technical information to the audience's level, managing relationships within teams and with clients, and developing a leadership style to accomplish goals."
His advice for current members
Kevin's advice is about staying open to a path that doesn't always run in a straight line:
"Spend a bit of your time pursuing new and unfamiliar experiences that will help you expand your comfort zone, and recognize that your future path is probably not going to be as linear as you think it will be. Have confidence in yourself and your skills, stick to your guns, and have the audacity to say yes when a new or unexpected opportunity comes your way."
