This month, we’re proud to feature Samantha Debes, Associate Director of Global Market Access Strategy for Early Products in Oncology at Johnson & Johnson. In her current role, Samantha helps shape strategies that enable promising new cancer treatments to reach the patients who need them.
Building her foundation at Enventure
Samantha joined Enventure in 2021, serving as both an Insights Fellow and Project Manager. Through these roles, she gained practical experience, strengthened her leadership skills, and began building the professional network that would help launch the next stage of her career.
Her Enventure experience became an important bridge between graduate school and the pharmaceutical industry.
“The experiences I gained through Enventure helped me land my first job out of grad school, a sales / management consulting role which catered to Pharma. In that role, I built my network, which helped me break into J&J.”
Advancing access to oncology treatments
Today, Samantha’s work at Johnson & Johnson focuses on reducing the barriers patients may face when accessing cancer medications.
As part of the company’s global market access strategy for pipeline products, she helps prepare emerging oncology treatments for the complex journey from development to patient access. Her work sits at the intersection of science, business strategy, and healthcare—helping ensure that innovation can translate into meaningful benefits for patients.
Her advice to current Enventure members
For Samantha, the value of Enventure depends on each member’s willingness to step forward, take ownership, and fully engage with the opportunities available.
“The experiences with Enventure are what you make of them. Take initiative and lean into the process as much as possible.”
